Salt & Saline SPMU Removal is: A process where A single needle with A special solution is passed over the area to be treated in two passes, also A salt soak is carried out causing osmosis, this is A reaction that takes place in the dermal layer of the skin where movement of fluids from high concentration to low concentration is then secreted out through the skin reversing the osmotic pressure. Once the salt is released beneath the skins surface, it surrounds the skins cells causing them to open and seep water to try and neutralize the high salt content in that area, which leaves the cell open to allow pigment (ink) to flow out and then secrete naturally out through the body during the healing process.
The Healing Process: The recommended time between treatments is 5-6 weeks, if the skin is still slightly shiny/pink it should be left for A further few weeks until it has subsided before booking another session of removal.
Results: The realistic expectations A client can expect would be that on average clients can start to see fading/lightening of the area after 3-4 sessions but it can take more or less depending on each individual client and skin type. The darker pigment particles tend to get removed by the body first as the molecule size are A lot smaller than warmer colours which are more stubborn to remove as the molecules are larger. The more pigment that is in the skin the more sessions it will take to remove it. SPMU can never 100% be removed although some great results can still be achieved. Once you are happy to have got to a stage where the old tattoo is light enough then a fresh set of correctional brows can be carried out.
Aftercare: •Leave dry for 24 hours before washing very gently with water •Pat do NOT Rub/Wipe •Leave to dry, dust off any salt lightly and leave to heal •Do NOT pick the area •Do NOT put makeup on the area until healed •Keep the area as DRY as possible it is very important to keep the salt content high to achieve best results, moisture of any kind to the area will just dilute the salt and results won't be as successful.
